Box mod kits pair a box mod with a sub-ohm tank, so you get a full vape mod setup in one box. A box mod gives you more power, a bigger battery and more settings than a pod kit. Each kit’s tank is made for direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping and big clouds. Use the Filter By bar to narrow the list by brand. On a phone, tap Filter Products.
Built-In or 18650 Batteries?
Some kits have a built-in battery, so you don’t need to buy batteries: the VOOPOO DRAG 6, Geekvape Aegis Mini 5 and Aegis Solo 3, and the Vaporesso ARMOUR ULTRA. Most others take two 18650 batteries that you buy separately. The Vaporesso Armour MAX also takes 21700s.
How Much Power?
The Aegis Mini 5, Aegis Solo 3 and ARMOUR ULTRA go up to 100W. Most dual-battery kits reach 200W to 225W. Each coil has its own wattage range, so set the mod inside it.
The Tank in the Box
Each kit comes with a sub-ohm tank, from the 4ml dotTank Max V2 to the 8ml iTank 2. Each tank takes its own coil family, like Geekvape Z coils or VOOPOO PnP X coils. Shop sub ohm tanks and replacement coils.
Box Mod or Pod Mod?

What is a box mod?
A box mod is a box-shaped vape mod that powers a tank and lets you set the wattage. Many also have temperature control and other modes.
What comes in a box mod kit?
The mod and a sub-ohm tank that fits it, usually with coils. Kits for 18650 batteries don’t include them unless the product page says so.
How much does a box mod cost?
Most of our box mod kits cost $60 to $80, tank included. Check each product page for the current price.
Do box mods still exist?
Yes. Geekvape, Vaporesso, VOOPOO, SMOK and dotmod still make box mod kits. We stock kits like the Aegis Legend 5, ARMOUR ULTRA and DRAG 6.
Can I use nic salts in a box mod?
Box mod kits come with sub-ohm tanks, which suit freebase e-liquid in 3mg or 6mg. Strong nic salts are harsh at high power, so a pod kit is a better fit for them.
