XROS pod compatibility is simple, says Vaporesso: if your device has XROS in its name, current XROS pods fit it. That holds for all the Vaporesso XROS kits, from the original XROS to the XROS 6. What changes from pod to pod is the XROS pod resistance, the XROS pod wattage and the XROS pod capacity, so this guide covers all three.
The short version
- Vaporesso says every XROS pod fits every XROS device, old or new. The one pod to double-check on older kits is the 0.4Ω.
- Pick a pod by resistance. The 0.8Ω gives a mouth-to-lung (MTL) draw, while the 0.6Ω gives a looser, restricted direct-lung (RDL) draw.
- The 0.8Ω is our most popular XROS pod: about 4 in 10 packs we sell.
- 2ml and 3ml pods fit the same devices. Only the amount of e-liquid changes.
- XROS pods don’t fit other Vaporesso lines, such as the LUXE kits, or other brands.
XROS pod compatibility chart
Every XROS kit takes XROS pods. Vaporesso says every XROS pod shares the same shape and magnetic connection, so XROS pod compatibility doesn’t depend on how old your kit is. Its chart also marks the 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods as a fit for every XROS device. As a result, new pods work in old kits, and old pods work in new ones.
Here are all the Vaporesso XROS kits, newest first. A check means Vaporesso lists that pod for the kit. We’ve also linked each kit we stock:
| XROS kit | 0.4Ω | 0.6Ω | 0.8Ω | 1.0Ω | 1.2Ω |

The 0.4Ω column is the only one with gaps, because Vaporesso’s own pages don’t agree on it. Its store, for instance, says every XROS takes pods from 0.4Ω to 1.2Ω. However, its pod page lists the 0.4Ω only for the XROS 4 series and the first XROS PRO, while its chart calls it the XROS PRO 2’s own pod. The newer kits above list it on their own pages, so they get a check. For an older kit, though, check its manual before you buy a 0.4Ω pod.
So if you vape an older XROS 3, for example, you can buy the same 0.6Ω to 1.2Ω pods as someone with a new XROS 6.
XROS pod cross compatibility
XROS pods also cross over between coil versions, sizes and generations. Here’s what fits an XROS kit, as well as what doesn’t:
| Pod | Fits XROS kits? | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| COREX 3.0 pods | ✓ | Vaporesso’s current pods come in both 2ml and 3ml, too. |
| COREX 2.0 pods, such as our 0.7Ω mesh | ✓ | Vaporesso says COREX 2.0 and 3.0 pods both fit every XROS device. |
| 2ml pods | ✓ | They share the shell, coil and magnetic fit of the 3ml pods, so only the capacity changes. |
| Older pods, such as XROS 3 pods | ✓ | They have the same shape and magnetic fit, so they also work in new kits. |
| Third-party “XROS-compatible” pods | They fit | However, Vaporesso warns that their sealing and coil quality vary a lot. |
| LUXE pods, GTX coils and other brands’ pods | No | They’re different pod systems, so they don’t swap with XROS pods. |
In other words, XROS pods only fit XROS devices. Other Vaporesso lines use their own pods, so the LUXE X3 and LUXE XR MAX 2, for example, take LUXE pods instead. Our XROS 6 vs Caliburn G5 comparison shows one more case, since the Caliburn G5 uses Uwell GPP pods. For a third-party pod, then, the safe choice is a genuine Vaporesso pod instead. Pick your draw by resistance
The XROS pod resistance, measured in ohms (Ω), sets how the pod feels. A lower number gives a looser, warmer draw, but it also needs more power. A higher number gives a tighter draw, so it uses less battery. Here’s how Vaporesso rates each pod, along with its best XROS pod wattage:
| Pod | Draw | Best at |
|---|---|---|
| 0.4Ω | Restricted DTL (RDL) | 25W |
| 0.6Ω | Restricted DTL (RDL) | 21W |
| 0.7Ω mesh | MTL | 16W to 18W |
| 0.8Ω | MTL | 16W |
| 1.0Ω | Tight MTL | 12W |
| 1.2Ω | Ultra-tight MTL | 10W |
Vaporesso doesn’t rate the 0.7Ω pod, though, so its rating comes from vape retailers’ specs that agree. The rest, however, are Vaporesso’s own numbers. Resistance doesn’t affect XROS pod compatibility, either, so you can switch between them in the same kit.
At our store, meanwhile, the 0.8Ω is the clear favorite. It makes up about 4 in 10 XROS pod packs we’ve sold, while the 0.6Ω comes next at about 3 in 10. Vaporesso also suggests the 0.8Ω or 1.0Ω if you’re new to vaping.
Your XROS pod resistance matters for your e-liquid, too. Vaporesso says XROS pods work with both freebase and nic salt e-liquid. For stronger nic salt, though, it points to the higher-resistance XROS pods, such as the 1.0Ω or 1.2Ω. Not sure which kind you use? Our freebase vs salt nicotine guide explains the difference. Our guide to PG and VG also covers how thick a juice is.
Set the power: XROS pod wattage
Each pod has a best XROS pod wattage, but you won’t always set it by hand. On the XROS 6, XROS 5, XROS PRO 2 and XROS 4 Nano, you pick a power mode, such as ECO, NORMAL or POWER, instead. That way, you can make each puff softer or stronger without choosing a number.
The 0.4Ω pod works a little differently, though. With it, those four kits let you set the XROS pod wattage yourself, in 0.5W steps. On the XROS 5, for example, that range runs from 15W to 30W. So with a 0.4Ω pod, you can set it right at Vaporesso’s 25W rating. The XROS 5 Nano’s manual also says you can adjust the power with a 0.4Ω pod, using the + and – icons on its touch screen.
The XROS 6 MINI and XROS 5 Mini have no screen. Vaporesso rates the XROS 6 MINI for up to 30W, but it doesn’t list a wattage for the XROS 5 Mini. On any XROS kit, though, the XROS pod resistance is still the main way to pick your draw.
XROS pod capacity: 2ml or 3ml
XROS pod capacity is either 2ml or 3ml. Vaporesso says the 2ml pods share the same shell, resistances, magnetic fit and coil tech as the 3ml ones. So size doesn’t change XROS pod compatibility: a 2ml pod fits any XROS device, and so does a 3ml pod.
We stock COREX 3.0 pods in both sizes. The 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω come in 2ml and 3ml, while the 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω come in 2ml. Our 0.7Ω pod, on the other hand, is an older COREX 2.0 mesh pod with a 3ml XROS pod capacity. COREX is Vaporesso’s coil heating tech, and Vaporesso says COREX 3.0 improves flavor and pod life. Still, its store says COREX 2.0 and COREX 3.0 pods both fit every XROS device.
Vaporesso XROS Replacement Pods (Pack of 4)
These fit every XROS kit on this page. We stock COREX 3.0 pods from 0.4Ω to 1.2Ω, plus a 0.7Ω mesh pod, so you can pick the XROS pod resistance you like. Shop XROS pods.
Best for: anyone with an XROS kit who needs spares or wants to try a new draw.
Good to know: The 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω have the smaller XROS pod capacity, 2ml, so they need refilling a little sooner.
The Vaporesso XROS kits we stock
We carry seven Vaporesso XROS kits right now. Thanks to XROS pod compatibility, they all take the same pods, so you can pick by battery, screen and size. First, here are five of them, with specs from each kit’s own page. The two Nano kits follow.
XROS kits with a screen
The newest XROS has an 1800mAh battery. Also, Vaporesso says 10 minutes of charging gives about 50%, and it fires by draw or button, too.
Best for: anyone who wants the newest XROS with a screen and quick top-ups.
Good to know: It comes with 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods, so buy 1.0Ω or 1.2Ω pods separately for a tighter draw.
This is our best-selling XROS kit. It has PWR, NOR and ECO modes, and it fires by draw or button. It also comes with 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods.
Best for: a proven all-rounder with a screen and power modes.
Good to know: Its 1500mAh battery is smaller than the XROS 6’s 1800mAh.
Two more kits have screens, too. The XROS 5 Nano has a 1.09-inch touch screen and a 1600mAh battery, while the XROS 4 Nano has a 1.3-inch round screen and a 1350mAh battery. Both come with a 0.8Ω pod, plus a 0.4Ω or 0.6Ω pod, depending on the kit version.
XROS kits without a screen
This smaller XROS 6 has no screen, and it’s about 11mm shorter. It also comes with one 0.6Ω pod.
Best for: a simple, pocket-size kit with no screen to fuss with.
Good to know: There’s no USB-C cable in the box, so use one you already own.
Whichever kit you use, follow the FDA’s tips to help avoid vape battery fires when you charge it.
XROS pod compatibility FAQ
Do all XROS pods fit all XROS devices?
Yes. Vaporesso says that if your device has XROS in its name, current XROS pods fit it. That covers everything from the original XROS to the XROS 6. The one pod to double-check on older kits is the 0.4Ω, so see the chart above.
Do XROS 3 pods fit the XROS 5 or XROS 6?
Yes. Every XROS pod has the same shape and magnetic fit, so pods move between the XROS 3, 4, 5 and 6 series.
Which pod is best for nic salt?
For stronger nic salt, Vaporesso points to the higher-resistance XROS pods, such as the 1.0Ω or 1.2Ω. The 1.0Ω gives a tight MTL draw, while the 1.2Ω gives an ultra-tight one.
Can I use a 0.4Ω pod in any XROS?
Vaporesso’s own pages don’t fully agree. Its compatibility chart pairs the 0.4Ω only with the XROS PRO 2, which comes with one. However, Vaporesso’s pages for all seven kits we stock list the 0.4Ω pod as a fit. On the XROS 6, XROS 5, XROS PRO 2 and XROS 4 Nano, it also lets you set the XROS pod wattage in 0.5W steps. For an older XROS, check its manual first.
Do XROS pods fit LUXE or Caliburn kits?
No. LUXE kits take LUXE pods, and the Uwell Caliburn G5 takes GPP pods. XROS pods only fit XROS devices.
Are 2ml and 3ml XROS pods the same?
They fit the same devices and use the same coil tech. The only real difference is XROS pod capacity, so a 3ml pod simply holds more e-liquid.
How long does an XROS pod last?
Vaporesso rates each XROS pod for 6 to 8 refills. Swap in a new one sooner, though, if the taste turns burnt or the vapor gets weak. Also, let a new pod soak for 5 minutes before your first puff, as Vaporesso suggests.
Stock up on XROS pods
Grab a pack in the XROS pod resistance and capacity you like, or pick up a new kit. Every one takes the same pods.
Compatibility comes from Vaporesso’s own XROS chart. Pod ratings and the best XROS pod wattage for each one also come from Vaporesso, except for the 0.7Ω, and kit specs come from each kit’s page on our site.
