How to Change a D Coil
- Empty it: empty the tank, or let it run low.
- Take the base off: unscrew the base from the TF-D.
- Swap the coil: take out the old coil and fit a new D-COIL.
- Refill and wait: put the base back, fill the tank and wait 2 to 3 minutes so the cotton soaks through.
- Set the power: stay within the coil’s rating, starting near SMOK’s best setting.
- Replace it: when the flavor fades or tastes burnt, fit a new coil.
Good to know: SMOK’s D-COIL box says the coils are compatible with the SUPA Empty Pod and the TF-D Subtank. The X-Priv Plus and X-Priv Solo kits come with the TF-D, a 0.15Ω installed and a 0.23Ω in the box. Our SMOK coil compatibility guide shows which tanks and pods each coil fits.

What do D coils fit?
The SMOK TF-D Subtank, which comes in the X-Priv Plus and X-Priv Solo kits, and the SUPA Empty Pod. We sell the SMOK TF-D Subtank, the X-Priv Plus kit and the X-Priv Solo kit.
Which version should I pick?
SMOK makes the 0.15Ω and 0.23Ω for direct-to-lung vaping and the 0.4Ω for RDL and DL.
What wattage should I use?
Start near SMOK’s best setting: 60W for the 0.15Ω, 50W for the 0.23Ω and 25W for the 0.4Ω.
Which one is dual meshed?
The 0.23Ω. SMOK says its hexagon-structure mesh gives more stable heating. The 0.15Ω and 0.4Ω are single meshed.
Why is the bottom unslotted?
SMOK says the unslotted bottom improves leak resistance.
