In the XLIM Pro 3 vs XLIM 3 Ultra choice, the big difference is the screen. The Ultra is a touch screen vape with a 2.2-inch display you swipe like a phone, while the Pro 3 has a 1.05-inch display and one button. Otherwise, both are 30W OXVA pod kits with a 1500mAh battery, and both take the same XLIM pods.

The Ultra gives you a much bigger screen and more features, while the Pro 3 is smaller, lighter and cheaper. Otherwise, the two are the same, as you’ll see below.

Meet the two kits

Here’s a closer look at each OXVA XLIM kit.

The big difference: the screen

The OXVA XLIM 3 Ultra’s 2.2-inch touch screen works with swipes instead of clicks. You swipe to change the wattage or see your puff logs. Those logs include a live puff counter, a summary of your vaping habits and a long-term trend. You can also pick from three themes and four animations.

The touch screen locks itself after 5 seconds and while you vape, so you won’t change a setting by accident. It also has an anti-fingerprint coating, according to OXVA.

The XLIM Pro 3 keeps things simpler than the Ultra. Its 1.05-inch display shows your stats, while one button does everything. Two clicks open the menu, three change the wattage and five turn it on or off.

What’s the same

Under the screen, these two OXVA pod kits are almost identical:

• Both have a 1500mAh battery and go up to 30W.
• They charge over USB-C at 5V/2A, and OXVA says they reach 80% in about 30 minutes.
• Each one fires when you draw or press the button, and you can lock the button.
• An airflow slider takes both from a tight MTL draw to a looser RDL one.
• Both come with two 3mL XLIM top-fill pods, 0.6 ohm and 0.8 ohm.

MTL means mouth-to-lung, while RDL means restricted direct lung. Each OXVA XLIM kit runs on the Photon chip, but the Ultra adds what OXVA calls a Super Pulse System. OXVA says it keeps the power steady as the battery runs down.

Whichever kit you choose, follow the FDA’s tips to help avoid vape battery fires. That means charging on a clean, flat surface, away from anything that can catch fire, and not overnight.

XLIM pods for both kits

Both kits take OXVA’s XLIM top-fill pods and EZ pods in 2mL or 3mL sizes. That means one stash of spare pods works in either kit.

At our store, XLIM top-fill 3-packs cost $9.99, or about $3.33 a pod. Each pod holds 2mL, and we stock them in 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm, as well as stainless steel coil versions. We also carry the 3mL EZ cartridges at $10.99 for three, though only the 1.2 ohm is in stock right now.

Which resistance should you pick? OXVA rates the 0.4 ohm pod for RDL vaping at 26W to 30W, and the 0.6 ohm pod for RDL or MTL at 20W to 25W. Our XLIM Pro 3 vs XLIM 3 Ultra verdict comes down to the screen. Get the Ultra if you want a touch screen vape with puff logs and ECO mode, as long as you don’t mind a bit more size and weight. Get the Pro 3 if you’d rather save $4 and carry a slimmer, lighter OXVA pod kit.
