Ratings by Coil
SMOK rates each TA coil this way:
| TA coil | Mesh | SMOK rating |
|---|---|---|
| TA 0.2Ω Coil | 2-in-1 single meshed | 50–70W, best at 65W |
| TA 0.15Ω Dual Coil | dual meshed | 40–60W, best at 55W |
| TA 0.4Ω Coil | single meshed | 20–45W, best at 40W |
SMOK says all three TA coils heat fast, last long and wick well for rich flavor. The T-Air comes with the 0.2Ω installed and a 0.15Ω Dual in the box.
How to Change a TA Coil
- Empty it: empty the tank, or let it run low.
- Take the base off: unscrew the base from the T-Air.
- Swap the coil: pull the old coil out and push a new TA coil in. It’s plug and play, with no threading.
- Refill and wait: put the base back, fill the tank and let it stand for a few minutes so the cotton soaks through.
- Set the power: stay within the coil’s rating, starting near SMOK’s best setting.
- Replace it: when the flavor fades or tastes burnt, fit a new coil.
Good to know: SMOK prints each TA coil’s rating on the coil, as our photos show for the 0.2Ω and 0.15Ω Dual. Our SMOK coil compatibility guide shows which tanks and pods each coil fits.
