SMOK X-Priv Solo 80W Pod Mod Kit Review
The SMOK X-Priv Solo kit pairs a compact 5W to 80W mod, powered by one 18650 battery you buy separately, with the TF-D Subtank for D-COIL mesh coils. SMOK designed the TF-D for direct-to-lung vaping. The mod has a dual-screen display with touch controls. See more from SMOK or compare other starter kits.
X-Priv Solo Highlights
Single 18650, 80W
The SMOK X-Priv Solo runs on one 18650 battery, which you buy separately, from 5W to 80W. It works with coils from 0.1Ω to 2.5Ω.
Compact Body
SMOK puts the mod at 27.65 × 28 × 89.5mm and 82.4g. A magnetic cap covers the battery.
Dual-Screen Touch Display
SMOK gives the mod a dual-screen display with touch controls, switchable themes and a vibration reminder. You fire with a large key on the side.
TF-D Subtank
The kit’s TF-D holds 3.5ml, or 5.5ml with the bulb glass in the box. It has top airflow and a sliding childproof top fill.

|---|---|---|
| D-COIL Meshed 0.15Ω (installed) | single meshed, DTL | 55–65W, best at 60W |
| D-COIL Meshed 0.23Ω (in the box) | dual meshed, DTL | 45–55W, best at 50W |
| D-COIL Meshed 0.4Ω | single meshed, RDL and DL | 25–35W, best at 25W |
We sell all three as SMOK D coils. All three are rated below the X-Priv Solo’s 80W maximum.
Batteries
Use a high-drain 18650 from a known brand, and rewrap or replace it if the wrap tears. Don’t charge batteries overnight, and carry spares in a case. The FDA has more battery safety tips.
How to Set Up the X-Priv Solo
- Add the battery: take off the magnetic battery cap, fit a charged 18650 and put the cap back.
- Fill the tank: slide the TF-D’s top cap to open the slot, fill it with the bottle nozzle pushed fully in, then push the cap back.
- Wait: give the coil 2 to 3 minutes to soak before you vape.
- Set the power: start at the low end of your coil’s range: 55W for the 0.15Ω or 45W for the 0.23Ω.
Who the X-Priv Solo Is For
The SMOK X-Priv Solo suits direct-to-lung vapers who want a small single-battery mod with a sub-ohm tank. For two batteries and up to 225W, see the X-Priv Plus. For a built-in battery, see the Geekvape Aegis Mini 5 kit.
Good to know: Two reviewers found the touch controls fiddly at times. One got accidental wattage changes until the controls were locked; the other sometimes needed a second tap in cooler conditions.
