How to Change a TFV8 Baby Coil
- Empty it: empty the tank, or let it run low.
- Take the base off: unscrew the base from the tank.
- Swap the coil: unscrew the old coil from the base and screw in a new V8 Baby coil.
- Refill and wait: put the base back, fill the tank and let it stand for several minutes so the cotton soaks through.
- Set the power: stay within the coil’s rating, starting near SMOK’s best setting.
- Replace it: when the flavor fades or tastes burnt, fit a new coil.
Good to know: V8 Baby coils are a different series from the V8 coils in the full-size TFV8 Cloud Beast, which takes TFV8 coils. The TFV8 X-Baby and TFV8 Baby V2 use their own coil series too.

What do these coils fit?
SMOK lists V8 Baby coils for its TFV8 Baby, TFV8 Big Baby, TFV12 Baby Prince, TFV9 and TFV9 Mini tanks, and the Scar-18, Scar-Mini, Rigel and Rigel Mini kits. We sell the SMOK TFV9 tank.
Which version should I pick?
For low power, the Q2 0.6Ω (20W to 50W). For the most power, the T8 0.15Ω (50W to 110W) or T12 0.15Ω (50W to 90W). The Q2 0.4Ω and Mesh 0.15Ω both run 40W to 80W.
What wattage should I use?
Start near SMOK’s best setting: 55W to 65W for the Q2 0.4Ω, 30W to 40W for the Q2 0.6Ω, 60W to 80W for the T8 and T12, 60W to 70W for the Mesh and 45W to 60W for the X4.
What wattage for the M2 coils?
SMOK doesn’t give one. Shop listings rate the M2 0.25Ω at 25W to 45W (best at 35W) and the M2 0.15Ω for 3.7V direct output.
Do they fit the full-size TFV8 Cloud Beast?
SMOK lists TFV8 coils (V8 coils) for the Cloud Beast, not V8 Baby coils.
